Charlotte Tilbury // Legendary Muse
Only after I purchased this limited edition eyeshadow quad did I realize I don't usually purchase eyeshadow quads. I rarely like more than one or two colors in a quad, and I end up opting for singles or a big palette because, really, who can resist a big palette. But this quad from Charlotte Tilbury, Legendary Muse Luxury Palette, really spoke to me. I'm a sucker for gold, and this quad is all about that.
First, I love the packaging. I appreciate packaging that is sleek and compact without feeling cheap. The cover is adorned with stars like last year's limited edition palette, Fallen Angel, and inside is encased in the typical rose gold finish. The pans are not embossed with stars like the Fallen Angel palette, but is also $52 USD (like regular quads) vs. $65 USD and with more product 0.18 oz vs. 0.10 oz. I don't have the Fallen Angel palette, but I believe that could be used wet or dry. The mirror is nice, and the case opens and closes easily. (I can't tell you how annoyed I get when a compact is hard to open or close... or doesn't close properly. Argh.)
Anyway, back to the shadows. It is part of a new Charlotte Tilbury look: Dreamy Look which is paired with the Secret Salma Hot Lips color and other products from the line like eyeliner and mascara. From the CT site, here is Charlotte's inspiration for the look:
"The Dreamy Look is inspired by the dreamy spot-lit beauty that supermodels like Gisele Bundchen and Gigi Hadid possess. That flawless, poreless, airbrushed supermodel dream skin that catches the light, and transports you to another realm! This look is a gorgeous, super-flattering, glowing, dreamy veil of makeup that suits everyone, transforming the wearer from ‘gorgeous girl’ to ‘goddess of the party'."
Like all of the CT palettes the four shades are: Prime, Enhance, Smoke and Pop. I laid down some eyeshadow primer on my arm, and used a brush to swatch. I love the gold tones in every shade, but staying all within a very warm-toned family.
I'm guessing some people might find the colors too limiting, but I really love the subtlety of them, if not the shimmery glittery effects. It's perfect with some bold liner and contour and a nude lip. I have Secret Salma, but I'm thinking Kim K.W. would be very sexy with these shades. I'd have to say that this quad is like a highlighter family for your eyes. I think Charlotte Tilbury has perfected an easy-to-wear, but glam look with this palette - what a rare combo! Simply stunning.
