By Terry // Rouge-Expert Click Stick
By Terry just released their latest lip product, The Rouge-Expert Click Stick. The most attractive feature of these lipsticks are their shape. Shaped like a teardrop, the point makes these so easy to apply. And with the rounded bottom, you're guaranteed an even application with one swipe.
These lipsticks come in a pen-style tube. Instead of twisting the barrel, a button at the bottom of the barrel clicks to push up a teensy bit of product at a time. I was a little skeptical about this method of delivering the product. Often, I find myself clicking with liquid products like concealers, and delivering way too much product. With a lipstick, I was worried I'd click too much and not be able to twist it back down. So I pulled off the top, clicked once... nothing. Clicked twice... nothing. I clicked a few more times and finally the product started to rise. But just the tiniest bit. I was worried for nothing. And the packaging reminds us: "One way system - Preserves lipstick shape and formula." So, you can't push it back down.
The lipsticks themselves are very creamy, almost slippery but also very pigmented. I applied one swipe of color No. 2, went out for some chili and fries, and after dinner it was still on. The color was not as intense, but it was still very much there.
The formula is incredibly comfortable on the lips. It feels a bit more slippery than a creamier product like Tom Ford's Lip Contour Duo. Waxier maybe? In any case, it feels nourishing although it does not claim to have any skincare benefits. Here is what it does claim - directly from the packaging:
"No more compromises: one click and you can have it all! This 3-in-1 hybrid lipstick is rich like a balm, precise like a pencil and intense like a premium pigment. In just one stroke, it reveals the boldest colour impact all day long.
Absolute coverage and velvet smooth comfort upon application through an ultra-feminine gesture. Its ergonomic drop-shaped tip instantly outlines the contour and fills the lips. A range of glamorous shades from nude to pop to give your lips a bespoke touch of style."
The three colors I purchased are all fairly neutral. I would have liked some darker shades for the Fall season, but they all appear to lean more purple-y than brown, which I would prefer. There is a slight floral fragrance to these that I can't detect once it's on my lips.
All in all, I really enjoy these. I like the pen-style packaging with the click, the comfortable long-wearing formula and the colors. But, the shape of the lipstick is the real charm. It is not only beautiful to look at, but it makes for the easiest application ever.
Have you picked up any? What colors did you get?
