Marc Jacobs // Air Blush
I have been so impressed with every single item I've purchased from the Marc Jacobs Beauty line. It all began with the Coconut Primer, and from there I've tried the lipgloss, the bronzer, highlighter and now these blushes.
These blushes have the most amazing texture. When I first dipped in with my forefinger, I thought they were a cream. But no, they're a powder with the creamiest texture I've ever felt. I can't even find words other than silky, soft and smooth to describe it and those don't seem to do them justice.
One thing I really love is the shape of these compacts. The rectangle shape makes it so easy to swipe your brush across both colors. Most of the single blushes I have are in round compacts and it forces me to pounce my brush into it and I feel like I don't actually get as much powder product onto my brush that way, while kicking up a lot of powder.
The colors I purchased are very subtle. I don't know if every colorway is the same, but it takes a few swipes to get the color I want. They're described as a "soft glow duo" and personally, I like the buildability. I've been using the Becca Luminous Blushes, which I love, but those are so heavily pigmented that I'm always fearing I'll look like a clown. I never have to worry with these Air Blushes. The application is so smooth and I haven't experienced any weird patchiness or unevenness.
Each colorway is composed of two colors and the lighter color in each makes for a gorgeous highlight on its own. Lines & Last Night is a coral with a very peachy highlight. Below I swatched the highlighter color, the darker blush color, and then combined them (from L to R).
I also picked up the Flesh & Fantasy colorway which is cooler and much more nude.
The highlight color in Flesh & Fantasy is amazing. i can see myself wearing the highlight on its own very often! It has the softest pearlescent finish and is a lovely luminous, slightly peach-in-tone color. Again, I feel at a loss for words. These colors are so special and subtle - one really has to see them in person.
I am so in love with these blushes. They've been my go to these past few days. It's been very warm and muggy and a dusting of these blushes gives my face just enough life that I don't feel the need to pile on the makeup.
It's an amazing addition to the blush collection! Cali Beaute's blog has me lusting after the Lush & Libido colorway for something brighter. Did you guys pick up any of these?
