Sephora VIB Sale Haul // Spring 2016
Apparently I have no self-control and completely lost my mind at the Sephora VIB Sale. Who was with me?! I kept telling myself I could return stuff if I didn't like it, but in reality I kept it all - except for a foundation that was too light. I love everything I got and can't wait to play around with it all. I placed three orders online, and stopped into the store in the Meatpacking District last Friday. Thankfully IMATS was right smack in the middle of the sale which snapped me out of my Sephora shopping frenzy and turned my attention to those vendors.
I re-purchased quite a few things that I use regularly and love, so I'll start with that list.
Farmacy Soothing Gel Masks
I love these masks! Because of their gel consistency, they stay put. Most importantly they work! These soothing masks really calm down my skin and I'm especially excited to try these in the coming months when I end up spending more time in the sun and outside.
Beautyblender // Nude
'Nuff said. Get 'em while they're cheaper, amiright?
Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser // 3
I love this under eye concealer. I have shade no. 4 and when I use a highlighter it tends to look too dark. So I went for a lighter shade and it's perfect.
Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer // 2
To me, this is the OG highlighter. I bought my first bottle when it first came out years... and years ago and love sweeping it over the high points on my face after putting on foundation.
Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing Water
This is my go-to makeup remover. It takes off everything and is gentle on my skin. Now, I'm wishing I got another bottle!
Erborian BB Creme // Clair
Haven't given this a try yet, but may throw some on today. This'll be my first BB cream... have high hopes! Fingers crossed.
Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation // 123
I've been wearing this foundation for the past few days and really love it! I love the lightweight texture and light coverage. I've worn it for close to 12 hours and I haven't seen it deteriorate much at all.
Bronzers // Highlighters:
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powders // Highlight 01 & Bronzer 02
These two powders are definitely some of my faves now. I wore them together two days in a row and got so many compliments on my complexion! They're so natural and I love the subtlety for everyday wear.
Hourglass Ambient Bronzer // Luminous Bronze Light
I realized how pigmented this bronzer was after applying it and comparing my face to my neck. It was quite impressive! But I think I'll have to reserve this for when I'm tanner, or have self-tanner on. Or learn to use a lighter hand.
BECCA Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle // Lychee
Nars Blush // Madly
I've worn this a few times as eyeshadow and love it!! It gives a nice warmth for an all-over bronzey look. I'll have to try it as a blush soon!
Benefit Cheekathon Blush & Bronze Palette
I bought this primarily for Hoola and Coralista. I've been wanting to try each, so why not. I'm really liking Dallas though! It's a great neutral blush shade. And Hoola may not be the right shade for me. I think it made my skin look a little dirty. But I'll have to keep playing with it.
Tom Ford Sheer Cheek Duo // Bicoastal
I bow down to this blush. I thought it would be way too pink, but it's the perfect flush. LOVE.
Tom Ford Moisturecore Lip Color // Mustique & Carriacou
Tom Ford Ultra-Rich Moisturizing Lip Color // Temptation Waits
I haven't tried any of these yet, but I love the formulation and had to fill in my collection during the sale! #noregrets
Clinique Chubby Sticks // Heaping Hazelnut, Bountiful Blush, Whole Lotta Honey, Fuller Fig
I love lipsticks in chubby stick form, so I thought I'd give these a shot. I wore the Whole Lotta Honey one day and it's a solid OK. I can't say that I'm super-impressed with them. They're pretty when they first go on, but felt a little goopy a few hours later. It could be my lips though. The colors are really pretty and since they're a balm, it's a lovely sheer everyday kind of look. Nice to throw in the bag.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Gloss // Sugar Sugar & Pretty Thing
You know what I love most about these lipglosses? I love that they have the slightest hint of a minty scent and feeling and that it wears off fairly quickly. Nothing too crazy like a plumper. And of course the texture and colors are so great. Perfect for the summer!
Marc Jacobs Beauty Twinkle Pop Stick Eye // Honey Bunny & Leila
I wore Leila all day yesterday without any primer and it stayed put all day. Even as my eyes teared from hay fever, it stayed on, no odd glitter bits on my face and was just as pigmented on my lids at the end of the day as it was at the beginning of the day. Big big thumbs up!
Burberry Eye Colour Contour Smoke & Sculpt // Almond, Pale Copper, Rosewood
I haven't tried these yet - am hoping they're just as good as the Marc Jacob's ones.
Ardency Inn Modster Supercharged Smooth Ride Eyeliner // Black & Coffee
I'm always a little skeptical when I see rave reviews about something, so I wanted to try these out to see what all the fuss was about. They're simply awesome. Went on smoothly, didn't smudge, didn't fade and didn't smear. And, I didn't have to struggle to take it off. Came right off with the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water.
Estee Edit Metallishadow // Scarlet Eclipse
I only played around with the cream part of this duo since I really wanted some red eyeshadow. I liked how it went on - very smooth and pigmented. But it never seemed to set. There was no staying power. I haven't tried it with the powder yet, so maybe I need that to actually set it. We'll see.
I haven't given any of these a try yet as I still have so much skincare to get through. But I'm about to bust open that Pore Cleaning Pad because I woke up with the most gigantic zit on my chin. I need some help!
Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base
Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Sephora Eye Makeup Remover Buds
Sephora Precision Pore Cleaning Pad
Well, I think I can safely say: damage was made. Did y'all go buck wild during the sale too? What did you get? Follow me on Instagram (@40yroldvirgo) and I'll try to get some pics up using these things!
